Cowboy Junkies
Friday, October 8, 8:00 p.m.
$40 / $45
The Cowboy Junkies return to the Opera House for another evening of what has been called "slow-burning countryfied rock" and "brutally beautiful poetry."
Currently in the midst of an International tour, the group, which has been together for 25 years, has recently embarked upon an ambitious project - to release four albums in 18 months.
Collectively called The Nomad Series, according to the band, the project "was born in the tumult of a perfect storm of ideas, influences, inspirations and timing." With this performance, the Junkies bring that "perfect storm" to the stage.
"We had forgotten what a searing experience the Junkies can be . . . we were reminded all over again why the Junkies have been around 25 years" - Houston Press

"Private Eyes"
October 14, 15, 16: 8:00 p.m.
October 17: 2:00 p.m.
$25
Steven Dietz's hilarious Private Eyes is a comedy of suspicion in which nothing is ever quite what it seems. Matthew's wife, Lisa, is having an affair with Adrian, a British theatre director. Or perhaps the affair is part of the play being rehearsed. Or perhaps Matthew has imagined all of it simply to have something to report to Frank, his therapist. And, finally, there is Cory -- the mysterious woman who seems to shadow the others and who brings the story to its surprising conclusion. Or does she? The audience itself plays the role of detective in this hilarious "relationship thriller" about love, lust and the power of deception.
