Lovingly ripped off from the 1975 Monty Python classic, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, SPAMALOT is written by famed Python, Eric Idle, who collaborated with John Du Prez on the score. The original 2005 Broadway production won three Tony Awards, including the Tony Award for Best Musical and received 14 Tony Award nominations.
SPAMALOT retells the tale of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table, and features a bevy of beautiful show girls, not to mention cows, killer rabbits, and French people. This hysterical, irreverent parody of Arthurian Legend will keep audiences in stitches. If you are not a Monty Python fan, you will be after this production!
Originally produced by 6th Street Playhouse in Santa Rosa, the show comes to the Napa Valley Opera House for a limited engagement. Featuring an enormously talented cast from around the North Bay area, Napa theatre-goers will definitely recognize Lucky Penny Productions (Funny Girl) founders, Barry Martin and Taylor Bartolucci, starring as “King Arthur” and the “Lady of the Lake.”
